Anna and Andrew decided to marry just after the first lockdown whilst on a walk at Springhead in Fontmell Magna when visiting family in Dorset. The venue is a hidden gem hidden in the North Dorsets countryside and has so much to offer. With the option to have an outdoor ceremony in the gardens over looking a lake it feels like a magical place. There is also a grass amphitheatre and an Italian Rotunda which is a stunning backdrop to say your vows in front off.
Like so many couples 2020 and the pandemic had put things into perspective and they decided to go for it and and book the venue with just 6 weeks to plan!
When Anna called us just 6 weeks before the wedding she had so many amazing ideas with a Bohemian and elegant style. The styling of the aisle was very important as it helped set the tone for the whole day. A relaxed and laid back feel that reflected the couples personality was also a must.
BOHEMIAN AISLE WITH PERSIAN RUGS AND MACRAME CHAIR BACKS
After discussing ideas and inspiration Anna decided on Macrame chair backs that could be used during the ceremony and afterwards in the reception. We hand made these pieces involving some late nights in our studio! The final result of 30 chair backs made such an impact that not much else was need to style the aisle. We are a firm believer that when you are styling a venue with a stunning backdrop less is more and items that compliment the venue are key.
We used our vintage Persian rugs to in shades of pink and red. At the entrance to the aisle were two large Vintage milk churns with Dried flowers and Pampas grass. We loved this Boho twist on vintage milk churns that are normally used for more rustic and traditional floral arrangements
Dorset florist Bright Blooms Floral Boutique also created a floral Chandelier with a mixture of pampas grass wild florals and Foliage that hung from the Italian Rotunda where the ceremony was held.

BAREFOOT BRIDE WITH JEWELLED CAPE AND VAN MORRISON
When the bride walks down a rug aisle to Van Morrison Crazy in love barefoot with a bridal cape you know this is not your average wedding… Anna lost her shoes before the ceremony and decided to walk barefoot!
She wore an Evita cape from Jenny Packham Bridal with crystal embellished shoulders. The tulle fabric drapes behind and almost acted as a veil and looked perfect.
Andrew wore a suit from Brighton Designer Gresham Blake.

LAID BACK TIPI RECEPTION, MACRAME CAKE SWING AND SILENT DISCO
Guest enjoyed an informal and intimate reception in a Tipi on the Springhead grounds. A three tier semi naked cake from Caked Patisserie was displayed on a macrame cake swing that we created as a bespoke prop. Having the cake suspended from an arch when the guests entered the tipi was a great way to turn the cake into a part of the decor.
We created a bohemian lounge area with Peacock chairs vintage rugs and sheepskins. This created a unique place for guest to relax with a drink and take photos and was also a hit with the children!
Anna and Andrew celebrated into the evening with a silent disco.
If the last year has taught us anything it is that love wins. A smaller celebration can give you the chance to focus on things and people that really matter to you as a couple.
